Case Study: Living with toxic mold
WATCH NOW
The Situation
For five years, I was unknowingly living in toxic mold.
For four of those years, my doctor insisted I was being exposed. After over a year of elevated mycotoxin test results — using testing from RealTime Labs — we knew something was wrong. But it wasn’t until our third (accurate) mold inspection, conducted by Mold Finders, that we finally discovered mold throughout our home.
The confirmation was overwhelming — but also validating.

The Turning Point
Throughout my physical mold treatment process — and now during our full remediation — I’ve had to become a pseudo-expert in both healing and remediation.
I’ve documented everything:
• My health journey
• The testing process
• The inspection failures
• And now, the remediation itself
• My health journey

• And now, the remediation itself
But before showing the walls being opened up, it’s important to understand what happened first — and how we carefully selected our remediation team.

Why Proper Remediation Matters
Mold remediation must be done correctly for two critical reasons:
A) To prevent it from coming back
B) To allow true healing to begin
B) To allow true healing to begin
Improper containment or incomplete removal can lead to recurrence — and continued health consequences.
That’s why proper containment systems and professional protocols matter during remediation.
⸻
Containment That Protects the Home
During professional remediation, creating secure, sealed containment zones is critical to prevent cross-contamination throughout the property.
That’s where solutions like RE-U-ZIP® dust barrier systems play a role — helping remediation teams maintain secure containment access points while work is underway.
When health is already compromised, there is no margin for error.

Gratitude
Thank you for supporting me through this journey 💚
If you or someone you know is navigating mold exposure, proper inspection and remediation truly make the difference!
